Barbara A. Kiely was a dedicated mother, friend and teacher in Holyoke and Granby.  She loved books and was a Trustee of the Granby Library for many years.  She had a vibrant personality and was a woman of faith.  She taught CCD for many years and was a good friend of Bureau of Exceptional Children and Adults at Jericho.

An annual scholarship has been established in her memory by Brown Kiely LLP to support individuals with disabilities who are pursuing post-secondary education. 

The Selection Committee will review all applications, identify the most deserving individuals based on the principles for which this memorial scholarship was created, and will make the award accordingly.

TO BE ELIGIBLE, A STUDENT MUST:

  • Be a resident of Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, or Berkshire County
  • Be a person with a disability seeking to further his or her education after high school.
  • Be a graduating high school senior or a returning student attending an accredited college or university.

In addition to the above eligibility requirements, FINANCIAL NEED, ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, VOLUNTEER SERVICE, CHURCH, AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES will be considered in selecting scholarship recipients. 

To complete the application process, the applicant must provide the following materials:

  • Completed scholarship application
  • Official transcript of academic records for grades 9-12 and/or undergraduate record
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Statement from a physician or school administrator verifying disability

ALL MATERIALS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY APRIL 1, 2021
